BUILD A NATURAL HAIR WASH DAY REGIMEN!

4/1/2020

Hi Tresses,

Please take care of your hair during this 2020 pandemic (COVID-19 - blah), as almost all salon have been closed due a nationwide lockdown!  Try sticking to a regimen whether it’s weekly, bi-weekly or long term (4-8 weeks). Below is a sample regimen. As far as products, at the salon, we exclusively use Embrace the Natural You products which celebrated their 5 year anniversary this year! We do use other brands for 1) clarifying hair with a lot of build up, 2) hold (i.e. gels, mousses, etc.) and 3) color. You can shop our products via www.embracethenaturalyou.com. We have always used our own cleansers, leave in conditioners, butters, moisturizers, oils, heat protectants, and more! We also have satin reversible bonnets as well. Come shop with our over 5000+ customers.

Weekly / Bi-Weekly
  • Clean - Use a sulfate free cleanser. Massage the scalp 1st and they scrub away. 1-2x. Rinse well.
  • Detangle / Condition - Use a leave in conditioner that is watered down to detangle. Usually 6-8 section is good.
  • OR Deep Condition - Use a rich creamy DC and alternate with and without protein weekly for 5-30 mins and rinse!
  • Leave In Conditioner -  The finer the hair then the less product you you use. Apply to damp hair!
  • Blow Dry (Optional) - If your hair is a beast then this may be a good option prior to styling but use a heat protectant over the leave in before blow drying by section.
  • Styler - Try a Gel/Mousse (hold), Butter (soften),  or Moisturizer (moisturize) AND/OR different combos.
  • Go To Styles: Wash and Go, Two Strand Twists, Flat Twists, Cornrows (6-10), Loose Braids

Long Term (4 weeks to 8 weeks)
  • Remove Shed Hair/Detangle - Wet the hair completely (without adding product as water will reactivate whats in there already), use a wide tooth comb and remove the shed hair. Start with 8-12 sections.
  • Deep Clean - Use a sulfate free cleanser. Massage the scalp 1st and they scrub away. 1-2x. Rinse well.
  • Deep Condition - Use a rich creamy DC and alternate with and without protein weekly for 5-30 mins and rinse!
  • Leave In Conditioner -  The finer the hair then the less product you you use. Apply to damp hair!
  • Blow Dry (Optional) - If your hair is a beast then this may be a good option prior to styling but use a heat protectant over the leave in before blow drying by section.  You could also alternatively put hair in braids allowing it to air dry before moving on to your protective style.
  • Styler - Butter (soften),  or Moisturizer (moisturize) AND/OR together.
  • Go To Styles: Crochet, Extension Styles (Braids, Twists, Faux Locs)

In Between Care + More Tips:
  • Use a butter or moisturizer to soften, moisturize and style and/or a mist to hydrate twists/braids.
  • For those with super dry scalp then feel free to use an oil on the scalp but massage it please. 😊
  • Wrap your hair at night with a silk scarf or bonnet or use a satin/silk pillow case.
  • Alternate between long term styles and some of the styles done weekly/bi-weekly.
